Comcast Teams Up With the NH Fisher Cats for Volunteer Thank You Event
Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Every year, approximately 75 individuals contribute thousands of volunteer hours to Heritage United Way by reviewing proposals from local programs seeking grant funding from the organization. These volunteers also take part in site visits to the local agencies and collectively make tough recommendations for funding. “The work of our Community Review Team volunteers is extremely important given the needs of our local community, “said Patrick Tufts, President & CEO of Heritage United Way. “They spend a lot of time making sure that the informed decisions they make on behalf of thousands of donors are done carefully and will positively impact our community for years to come.”

To thank these generous volunteers and to acknowledge the importance of their work with Heritage United Way, Comcast is teaming up with the NH Fisher Cats for a “Volunteer Thank You Evening” when the Fisher Cats host the Connecticut Defenders on July 17 at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium. “Volunteerism and a sense of community are important to Comcast. In recognition of the time these volunteers give to Heritage United Way, we are happy to be able to provide each of them with four (4) tickets to the ball game, a t-shirt and a $10 food voucher so that they can enjoy a great night of baseball with their families,” said Stephen Hackley, Senior Vice-President of the Greater Boston Region for Comcast.

“We are excited to team up with two of our long-term partners, Comcast and Heritage United Way, to honor all the men and women who take time away from their personal and professional lives in order to volunteer for others in need,” said Rick Brenner, President/General Manager of the Fisher Cats. “This is our chance to thank them and their families for the sacrifices they have all made during the course of the year by enjoying a night together at the ballpark.”
