Heritage United Way Becomes Granite United Way!
Thursday, July 1, 2010
As of July 1, 2010, Heritage United Way becomes Granite United Way.
This merged organization includes the former United Ways of Merrimack County
(Greater Concord), the Upper Valley (Hanover/Lebanon area) and the North Country
(Littleton area).
As a unified organization, various efficiencies are created that will improve
program offerings in all communities and maximize donor dollars. Each region
will have the added resource of utilizing one another to further develop strategic
fundraising campaigns and community initiatives. Recipients of United Way funding
also stand to benefit from this merger in that the process of applying for grant
support will be more efficient- organizations need only to fill out one Request for
Proposal. Most importantly, all fundraising and the distribution of funds will
remain LOCAL.
Patrick Tufts, former President & CEO of Heritage United Way, will serve as the
organization's President, and Elizabeth Hager, former Executive Director of the
United Way of Merrimack County, will serve as Executive Vice President.
Representatives from each former United Way will serve as board members for the
new organization and existing staff members will also remain in their local
offices preparing for our next grant cycle and upcoming campaigns.
We would like to thank the many volunteers and staff members that spent hundreds
of hours making this important collaboration a reality. There is a lot to look
forward to at Granite United Way!
Please also note that we have recently moved our local office to Downtown Manchester.
Our new mailing address is:
22 Concord Street, Floor 2
Manchester, NH 03101
Our phone (603.625.6939) and fax numbers remain the same (603.627.6057).
We are also currently developing our new Granite United Way website-
www.graniteuw.org. In the meantime, you may refer to this existing site
(www.heritageunitedway.org) for up-to-date local information.
Thank you to everyone in the community for your patience and support as we
work to create the best United Way we can!
